Trying to find descendants of Mary Kate Bowyer, born 1850, Woolston, Southampton, who married James John McKinlay Wilkie (born 1841, Rothesay, Isle of Bute). Mary Kate was, I believe, the daughter of James Thomas Bowyer of Woolston, and his wife, Martha Smythe. James and Mary lived at Langley, near Southampton, and later in Liverpool. They had a number of children including James Bowyer Wilkie, born 1867, married Mabel Kendall, Thomas McKinlay Wilkie, Marguerite Wilkie, born 1871, married R Cox, Allan Wilkie, born 1873, married F Hunter Watts, and Esther Isabel Wilkie, born 1875, married Henry Bennett. Esther later lived in Tarrant Gunville, Dorset. |
