I'm researching BAGSHAW's in the Bolsover / Scarcliffe area of NE Derbyshire. I have so far been unable to link positively this line with the core Bagshaw area further west. The best clue I have is that William Bagshaw of 'Bowolsover' married Mary BEIGHTON of Sheldon in Bakewell on 26th July 1677. I believe he was previously married to Anne GREEVES in Bolsover in 1668. His will refers to 'my brother Francis Beighton' (presumably his brother-in-law) and a William Beighton witnessed it. I'm guessing William Bagshaw had family connections in the Bakewell area - do these names mean anything to anyone? Regards / Peter |
