Trying to find Sykes

this might be impossible but i am trying to build up my sykes family tree as i know i am descended from Jeremiah Sykes of Stockport whose family owned the Sykes Bleachworks in Edgeley - Jeremiah was born in about 1815 and married Nargaret Murphy in 1844 - they had a daughter Sarah who was my great grandmother - i cannot trace the link back from Jeremiah who died in 1861 and is buried along with his forebears in Cheadle parish Church - any help would be much appreciated july 2004 - may have been born in liversedge nr Cleackheaton - still love to have any more info this is proving almost impossible.... |
