Message to Susan Hirst, RE "Hirst's in the Leeds area" Susan, it MAY be a coincidence, but my great grand father was called Walter Hirst (don't know about the middlename), and he was from Morley. The finer details of the story I'm unsure, but I do know that he had a wife who unfortunately fell down their stairs and died as a result of her injuries. My grandfather, Ernest, was 2 when this happened. His father, Walter, later died some months later with what the coroner said was simply a broken heart. Ernest was adopted by some Germans who were living in the Morley OR Cleckheaton area. HTH Jason |
