Help! Am trying to trace the parents of a William John Pratten, born 18.10.1785 in the UK. I think he was a member of the Great Queen Street (Red Lion Square, Holborn, London) Methodist Church congregation up to 1820 as he joined a group of settlers who went to South Africa in 1820 from that church. His date of birth is correct -I have his bible in which he wrote his own name and date of birth, but nothing about his family in the UK. His records in it only start from around 1820 when he arrived in South Africa.
