HUGH WHITE REID - Hugh was my grandfather, the son on Edward (Ned) Reid, a coal miner and Elizabeth (nee Dick) in Ayrshire(?). Hugh was born in 1887 and was one of 13 (!!!) children. Ned and Elizabeth were married on 31st Dec 1872 in Stevenson. I'd love to make contact with any one who might have details of the rest of Hugh's brothers and sisters as i have no info on them. Hugh was the black sheep, choosing not to continue the family line of coal miners. Instead he became a master baker and eventually emigrated to Dublin in 1930s.
