Update on my grandparents, John and Ellen (Coyle) Furey. They were both 29 at the time and lived at 32 Nimrod St., Walton, Liverpool in April 1891. Their children then were: John W (9); Bernard (6); Roger (4); Mary (3); Nellie (2); and Annie (under 12 months). The oldest 2 were born in Hexham, as was my grandmother. The others were born in Aldershot; Buttevant, Co. Cork; Dublin; and The Curragh, Co. Kildare. Six in less than 9 years wasn't exceptional then, but I wonder if there were any more before my mother was born 11 years later? If anyone has any news on my aunts and uncles, I'd love to hear from them. I've since found more on them from 1901 census and BMD records, as well as on my Granny's family. I'll share any info with anyone interested. Mick Furey |
