I am trying to find any links for William Daniel Pratt born 31/12/1899 in New Cross London. I know he had an older brother Ernest but I would love to know if there are any other relatives as we do not know of any.


William was my husband's grandfather.

Now found William's father Daniel Pratt born c. 1852 in Wix Essex but moved to Deptford/Rotherhithe area in London.

Daniel Married Louisa Culmer and they had two sons Ernest and William and a third son who was a few weeks old at the 1901 census

Daniel had been married before that to Amy Croucher who had been married to Alfred lambert.

Amy's father was John Croucher born in Ryarsh Kent c.1795

I now have Daniel's father Henry Pratt c. 1822 also from Essex married to Susannah and the following siblings for Daniel: sister aged 7 (1851), Susannah aged 5 (1851)Hannah aged (9) (1861),Elizabeth aged 6 (1861),Sarah aged 5 weeks (1861) and John born c.1867


I have traced married names for Elizabeth married George Redman.
from Waltham Essex but in Deotford @ 1881 census. They had a daughter Elizabeth c.1880


Sarah married Daniel Glennon born Bingley Yorks c. 1862 they had two children John c. 1886 born Bingley , and Maria c.1889 born Peckham.


Hannah married John Paskell born c.1847. They had 5 children: Harold 1876, Frank 1877, Annie 1878, Effie 1880and George 1887.

John was a baker's journeyman working for his brother-in-law George Redman in 1881

Ernest Pratt married Hilda Hatton and they had two sons Roy and Alan. I have made contact with Roy and he has Alan has four sons but I know nothing about them.
