RE: ERNEST MANSFIELD.My name was Sue Mansfield and I grew up in Dagenham. I remember my father speaking about an Ernest Mansfield and think he may have been his cousin. Sadly, my mother died just 8 months ago and most of the Mansfields of that generation have now gone. I will try and speak to a remaining elderly Auntie and will post any information here when I can. Have spoken to my Auntie at last who said the Ernest Mansfield in our branch of the family moved down to Cornwall during the war near where my Uncle Bernard Mansfield was stationed with the RAF. I think I remember now my father saying that another Ernest Mansfield who lived in Dagenham and is probably your relative, was not related to our branch of the Mansfield family. Sorry not to be able to help. |
