Trying to find Coombs

BRISTOL: Trying to find any information regarding a girl who was adopted by my great-great grandmother (EMILY FORD COOMBS nee GOULD) in July 1920 after her mother died. She was called TOPSY COOMBS although not sure if this her real name. She was claimed and returned to her father at Easter 1926. Other information from family bible: Father was called REG and mother DORIS MAY FORSE/FORDE/FORBE (possible spelling mistake) She was ?a sister of Emily but I can find no details anywhere of this. During conversations with my now deceased great aunt (Emily's daughter) she said that all her sisters were worried about taking a baby in, in case people thought it was theirs. Any information would be gratefully received. |
