My name is June Dudley. I am the granddaughter of Elizabeth Lightbody and trying to find out some information on her family. My father thinks she was born in the Edinburgh area around 1870-80 and only recalls her mentioning a sister called Mary Anne or Maran for short. He believes this sister lived in America. Elizabeth Lightbody’s younger years were spent working on a farm in the Edinburgh area and my dad recalls the names Morningside Farm and Broxburn. She married my grandfather Thomas Britton who I believe was from Lurgin in Ireland. They later settled in Glasgow. They had four children, Tommy, Katie, Betty and my father Jimmy (James). She died in Glasgow around 1960. Any information on her or family would be great. |
