Trying to find Manning

Caroline Manning and/or Frank Manning. My GGFather, Walter Charles Manning born in union Workhouse, Minster in Thanet, Kent 1861. Admission / discharge registers destroyed. Mother Caroline Manning, home parish recorded as Ramsgate. Child said to be illegitimate. However, marriage certificate of Walter (1887 Canterbury) shows father as Frank Manning, Stonemason. Have assumed a fiction until Found Walter (shown then as Charles) in 1881 census living with a Frank Manning shown as his father. Frank Manning recorded as married and I think his wife was Ruth (nee Sage) and if so, she was his wife at time of 1861 birth. Can anyone please help me out of this mess? |
