Carolyn Report 1 Jun 2003 21:09

I am looking for information about my Grandfather Samuel Barritt from Lancaster who was killed in action in Damscus, Syria on 23 June 1941, aged 24. He was in the Lancashire Kings Own Regiment and is recorded on the memorial at the cenotaph, Lancaster. He was married to Mary Jane (Lonsdale or Mack) and had two sons Sam (Samuel) (5) and Tony (Anthony)(2) at the time and they lived at 43 Ullswater avenue in Lancaster. Please, Please contact me if you knew him or are related to him. I am also looking for his father, James, who was born in Colne I think at the end of the 19th century. He then moved to Lancaster and lived in Dalton Square. Many thanks Carolyn
