I'm trying to find MARY GOODWIN who gives as her place of birth, Ilforf, Essex around 1837. She was the daughter of Edward - or Edmund (the name on the marriage certificate to john Frederick BRAND in 1869 is rather difficult to read) and Edward/Edmund was dead at the time of her marriage. Mary died 16 September 1895 in Claybury Hospital from a clot on the brain and left sons Alfred born 1860 and Charles Frederick born 1870. Mary is believed to have had onnections with Oldham, Lancs. and is - according to family story - supposed to have had a sister Susan. She brought up her eldest child Alfred with the help of an anuity although I have not been able to find documentry evidence of this. There seems to have been a connection to the name POPE somewhere along the line and relations living in Denbigh St. Pimlico as well as the name DRISCOLL in Lupus St. Westminster. Can anyone help please? Maggie Andersen nee Goodwin |
