Trying to find Vail

I would like to find anyone connected with my father's family. My Grandfather Daniel Vail, born 1872, Greenwich, had a pub in West Norwood, but he died in 1933 before I was born. He had brothers and my Dad's cousins scattered to Canada and Australia. I have vague memories of meeting some of those relatives as a child. The family had arrived in London from Huntingdonshire. I was told that Vail is a contraction of MacPhail, and that the family originally came from Inverary, moving to England after the 1745 rebellion. |
