re Sydney Halford born in Blakeney Hill East Dean, Glos 7 Feb 1869. His father was Charles Halford and mother Lucy Heale. He died in Rochdale in 1951. He was my grandfather. Since at least 1901 (from Census) he was known as Sydney Halford JENKINS, hence my own surname. He had a marriage previous to that with my granmother and had several children, all with surname JENKINS. No-one seems to be able to tell me why he changed his name. I would love to find some inkling. He is listed on 1901 census as living in Hindley, Lancs with his first wife and family, all of whom are now dead so no info from them. A contact with any relative would be a joy |
