Trying to trace the Wilkes side of my family. nan was Bridget Anne Wilkes born in Limerick in 1903. She was taken over to England in Rotherham as a baby. She had a brother Cornelius Wilkes born in 1905 in Rotherham (think he died as a child) Her sisters Florence b.1907 in Rotherham and Annie b.1914 (cant find Annie's birth cert) and she had another 2 brothers a Thomas Henry Haywood who died aged 5months in 1910 and also Johnny b.1912 Her father, my gt grandad's name was Thomas Henry Haywood Wilkes he was born in West Bromwich Wednesbury in 1878 his father was Cornelius Wilkes and his mother was Elizabeth (nee Ruffles) My gt grandad Thomas married my gt nan Bridget (nee Lane) who had been married before and her first married name was Slattery she was born in Limerick Ireland about 1876. My gt grandad to my knowledge had an older sister named Sarah Ann and a younger sister named Julianna, he also had an older brother named Cornelius, (there may of course be more born after this). My gt gt gt grandad was John Haywood married to a Sarah nee Green. Any connections. My gt grandad died in Rotherham in the Kimerworth area in 1914 my nan and all the family were taken back to Limeick Ireland where she had 11 children and died aged 39yrs in 1942. Also it appears that the name Haywood means something to the Wilkes as it has been repeated i.e Thomas Henry Haywood along the line (including some cousins that I have managed to trace) Any connections? |
