I am tracing my BOOKER family tree and would be interested in any information you have. My Great Grandfather was George Booker and his wife was Florence Mary (or other way round!) - died 1927. They had several children including: Jack Booker - Miner Walter Booker (Walt) – Miner – born 1908 in Worksop or Worsbrough in a place called Dingle Dell(?) Charles Booker (chuck) – Miner who married Evelyn (she died of cancer) and had 8 children George Booker (Yorky) – Miner Gerald Booker (Jeb) – Miner Mary Booker – born March 1914 (she was the youngest and went into service in London when she was 13 when her mother died. The four brothers moved to London in the 30s but Jack stayed in Yorkshire. Jack had 10 children (six were boys) and settled in Upton in Yorkshire. Walter Booker (my grandfather) came back from London to Haggs Wood in Stainforth during the 2nd World War and worked in the local mines. They lived in caravans at the time and life was tough. If anyone has any information I would be grateful if you could contact me at [email protected] or point me in the right direction. I know I have lots of family somewhere in Yorkshire but Im struggling to find them! Im doing this for my dad who is now in in 70s. Thanks for your help. Sue Booker
