My Howard has an Irish connection. Elizabeth Magdalen Howard was probabley born in Belfast around 1847. Her father was named John and was a tradesman in Belfast. She was married in Belfast to Oswald Alan Reade in 1870. They were both medically trained and Elizabeth became Matron in a Royal Naval Hospital while still quite young. Ring any bells? |
