Hi there fellow Bowdidge's, My name Barry Anthony Bowdidge and over the last 3 years ('02 - '05) I have put a file together of my Bowdidge family line. It began c.1820 when John Bowdidge b. 1803 (carpenter) came to N.London from Dorset (possibly Wootten Fitzepaine), married Londoner Jane Hodges at All Souls, St. Marylebone 26/12/1825 (IGI index), in 1830's moved to Deptford S.London where the Bowdidge Carpentry Dynasty spread! On Censuses from 1841 - 1901, I have a count of 20 or more Bowdidge carpenters - all descendants of John B. who died in 1879 (wife Jane died earlier in 1864). Through GR I have recently met up with a 4th cousin, Malcolm Bowdidge with 20 years research. With our combined family research we have been able to develop a larger family tree. Just some family names we know of are Ardouin, Brome, Chappel, Dalton, Denny, Hills, Hines, Hodges, Lander, Martin, Melville, Natt, Pettyfer, Pattinson, Pinkney, Plummer, Tomkins & Wallington. Does any of this tie up with your own idea of family? Barry Bowdidge
