I'm looking for JAFFERY/JAFFREY/JEFFREY/JEFFERY's in Roxburgh and Berwick counties from the early 1800's especially descendents of Robert, born c. 1848. He worked as an Estate Carter nearly all his life and died in 1914. NOTE THE VARIATIONS IN THE SPELLING!(They all occured in Robert's lifetime) Robert married Mary Hogarth in 1874 and they had six surviving children: David, Janet, Isabella(Bella), Walter(Wat), Robert(Bob) and William(Jim). In 1892 he remarried, to Sophia Hall and had my Grandfather, John. Sophia also had a son Thomas(Tom) from her previous marriage. Robert had over 30 grandchildren - are any of their descendents out there?! I would love to hear from you. |
