Trying to find whereabouts (burial site) of my grandmother. Her name is Edith. Her maiden name was FEATHERSTON(E)HAUGH. Her mother was EMMA. EMMA and Frank FEATHERSONHAUGH had my grandmother Edith out of wedlock. EMMA remarries EDWARD FOYE. They change Edith's name from FEATHERSTONEHAUGH to FOY(E). They have 4 more children: MARY, ROSIE, BILLIE & EDDIE. EDITH married JAMES COFFEY when she was about 20 years of age. JAMES COFFEY dies 2 weeks after they were married. 18 months after the death of JAMES COFFEY, EDITH had a son and named him after the deceased husband. She names her son GERALD. His birth certificate states (father unknown). Two years later she has a daughter, again out of wedlock and names her ELIZABETH(BETTY). Once again puts (father unknown) on her birth certificate. She abandons the children a few years later in an old,run down house in Edinburgh and takes off. The children are taken to their grandmother:EMMA. EMMA keeps Betty and puts Gerald in a foster home. When Gerald was older his foster mother took ill and he was placed in SMYLLUM PARK ORPHANAGE in LANARKSHIRE,SCOTLAND till he was 14 years of age. Gerald, my father, with the help of GenesConnected would like any information on the last whereabouts of his mother . He never met his mother (my grandmother). She may have ended up in Manchester. It is believed she remarried after fleeing to London. A man by the name of BROWN. She had son who was named DAVID BROWN and apparently he was supposed to have gone on to become a lecturer at Newcastle University,England. I do not know if this is fact as we have never met David Brown. It is only through family we heard a rumour that my father has a half brother called David Brown. If David could be located any help would be appreciated there also. thank you.
