I'm trying to trace a George Gibson, a malster, on my paternal grandmother's side. My grandmother was Mary Jane Gibson born in Newark and her mother was Selena Gibson. Her father is not recorded on her birth certificate but is shown as George Gibson (a malster) on her marriage certificate. My grandmother was also known as Mary Jane Hague and I therefore believe I have found her mother Selena within the 1881 census as the daughter in law to a William Hague who was also a malster. I cannot locate George, whom I assume from the ages on the 1881 was the son of William's wife as William would have been too young. If anyone has any info I would be really grateful. Thanks |
