Family legend suggests that my family is linked to Thomas Masterman Hardy (TMH), the Captain of HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. I have traced a Hardy ancestor in the right time period and born in the same locality as TMH. Are you able to help? I have linked back to James Hardy and Elizabeth (?) whose children were born in Abbotsbury, Dorset and were James (b.Abt 1786), Sarah Crew (b.Abt 1787), Elizabeth (b.Abt 1791), Mary (b.Abt 1793 & d. June 1813), Benjamin (b.Abt 1795 & d.Nov 1795), Ann (b.Abt 1796), Martha (b.Abt 1799, d.June 1836,m.William Godding June 1823), Joseph Ciero Tullidge (b.Abt 1801), Benjamin (b.Abt 1803), Eliza (b.Abt 1806, d.Nov 1833) and Richard (b.Abt 1809) |
