My grandfather was Thomas Halstead Mather married to Louise,he had two sons Harry and Ernest Griffith(my father) Thomas was a postmaster in Chester. Harry and Ernest policemen in the Cheshire force. I know there was an (rich)uncle of my fathers who lived in Manchester (? connection to my grandfather)and ran a business with the Mather name. Both my parents are dead and I have been unable to trace back further than my grandfather
