Trying to find a marriage between William Heslop (b1796) to Jane (poss Whitby) around 1840. Second marriage for him. Also trying to find a marriage between his daughter Alice Heslop (b1837) to someone with the surname Blore. Many thanks. Update - Found William and Jane's marriage in the Joiner Index, online. William Whitby Heslop m Jane Woodcock in Stockton on Tees in 1834. So the Whitby name came from William, and not Jane as I originally thought. Also discovered Alice Heslop's marriage to a Joseph Blore in 1857. However, she had a child to Alexander Reddie (my great great grandfather) around 1865, then married him in 1866. She was listed as a widow on her marriage cert to Alexander, but she and first husband Joseph did have at least one child, Julia, in 1863. So Joseph must have died sometime between 1862-1866. |
