ODWELL Does anyone know someone of this name? The name may have been corrupted over the years, but I definately know this name was my Grandparents, who were cousins, and they had 7 children, plus my Grandma had 2 more by a previous relationship with a man called Russell, who she was in service to. She wouldn't marry him even though the family accepted her. She married my Grandfather, but realised her mistake a short time later. But it was too late to go back to Mr Russell. Update; Have now traced my Grandfather's Grandfather. They all seem to be called William or Richard, and come from Hampstead. Have had one contact who thinks she may be related to me, but she hasn't got back to me again. I would like to hear from anyone who's Grandmother was called Mabel Odwell at birth. Did she marry? Did she die young? |
