I am trying to find my mothers 'birth' mother. She was born in Oldchurch Hospital in Romford on August 15th 1951, to a young single mother of about 18 years old. Name of Evelyn Norma Gernan (not sure of the spelling)(I think she was originally from Aldershot)I think my mothers birth name was Valerie Lynn and she was adopted by my granparents Ivy & Tom Roof who at that time lived in Dagenham. I would like to say to anyone who knows of this wonderful women, please thank her firstly for giving my mum to my grandparents, and for doing such a wonderful thing for 2 people who were not able to have children of their own. If she would like to get in contact I would be very happy to hear from her, as she now has a great grandson. |
