MATTOCK, John born 1799, Smeeton, Leicestershire, married Elizabeth born 1805.John died 1883 apparently in the local Workhouse. Son Richard,born 1841 Smeeton, Leicester married Rose CHANTLER born Hunton Maidstone, Kent 1842. Their children were: my Grandfather, Arthur Edmund born 1870, Richard, 1871, William J.H. 1872 who married Rebecca born 1872 with one known issue, Rose, born Hook, Surrey about 1900.Other issue of John was a daughter called? who married a George Knapp born 1828 & possibly a son George born 1837, Smeeton. Further children of Richard Arthur were Frank born 1875 and possibly a Tom. Any info backwards or forwards would be v. helpful. |
