Janine, Common names like William, James, Joseph etc, were EXTREMELY common!! And to find the same combinations turning up again and again is not at all unusual. Cousin is named for cousin, or named for godparent ........ or because they just liked the name. I have a similar problem as you with the name James in my own family line ....................... and in the village where they all originated. It seems that every generation and every family, related or not, in that village had at least one child named James C.....!! Not to mention, the ones who died and the name was re-used! I am extremely tempted to suggest that you put what you have on one side, and start all over again by working backwards very very carefully. It does sound as though a serious mistake has been made somewhere .............. and one should never trust someone else's research without double checking it. You should not even trust what we tell you on here without double checking it!!! |

Janine, but where did they get the information from? It definately looks like two different Williams, and as Sylvia said, to be a miner then a boilermaker is unlikely, especially as he went back to mining. |

Janine ....... I've just a quick (very quick!!) look at the censuses ........... I really do begin to think you have got 2 William Kerry's mixed up, not one in 2 diffrent places! One clue ................ I would not imagine that a coal miner would become a boiler maker (a somewhat skilled job) and then become a coal miner again. |

Its quite possible was enumerated at different addresses on census. If you are certain it is the same person make sure you note down details when you record it. Sue |
