Jane, I have just looked again at the 1861 image and I am fairly confident that the girl listed as Emma is actually Minna G and not Minnie as I first suggested. 1871 Household schedule 156 is for Susanna, Thomas and Eliza Sch 57 is Dawling Sch 58 is John and wife Mary - no daughter listed Ancestry is playing up again Maureen

I found a death for a Harriett age 22 in Hull 1869 which I suppose could be her. Jane

Perhaps Harriet died and he remarried. (Mary) I will have a look at BMD and see if I can find anything out. Thanks again Jane

Reg I have him on hte 1861 census living with a lady called Harriett and their daughters Ann F gray born abt 1855 and Emma born about 1857. What is confusing tho is that on prievious notes I have their children as Ann Goates Gray born 1855 and Minna Gray born 1857 but I did not record where I got this info from. They were living at Thornton Lane, Barrow on HUmber in 1871. John Gray born abt 1832 in Barrow upon Humber. His wifes name is Harriett born abt 1838. They had a daughter called Ann age 16 and a daughter called Emma age 14. I can not find them on family search 1881 census. I have JOhn at home with his mother on the 1871 census living in Barow on Humber. Thanks for your help Jane
