We think Roland was an only child. He died when his son was very small so not much known about earlier generations. That marriage looks likely Great stuff!!! Sue

Does your relation know if his father was the eldest child or would there have been others before him. It would help if he knew this as it would make finding his grandparent's marriage easier. Kath. x

If the birth date on the death certificate is correct (they are not always as it depends on who the informant is), then this could be the birth reference:- Roland Jones, mother's maiden name Jenkins Dec. qtr. 1932, Crickhowell, 11b, 124 Kath. x SNAP Reg. :-)

Ah I'd assumed Ancestry BMDs that recent were for subscribers only! I'd tried the Free BMD site and that didn't go that far. He was Roland. I'll go and try myself a mo. Thanks folks :) Sue

A relation is staying the night with us and we got to talking about family history. He knows little about his ancestry and his name is Jones! All we do know is that his father was Roland Jones born around 1935 in Tredegar, South Wales and his grandparents were an unknown Jones and a Naomi. Anyone fancy a challenge? Many thanks if so.
