Hi. Long shot this one. Looking for a Harry Jacobs b.abt 1877 and wife Rose b.abt 1890. Could be a child Lily aged 1year. Possibly Surrey. No other deatils known. Many thanks Dud.

Hi again. I am going by a 1911 Canadian census which says Harry aged 33 and Rose aged 31. Daughter Lily was 11. So the dates I gave were allowing for a year or so. They supposedly emigrated 1905. Dud.

AH! birthplaces just England then- thats helpfull!! I cant actually see a marriage for them - dont know her maiden name I suppose?

The passenger list (1905) states . Last residence Surrey. If its the Harry I am looking for he was born in Poole Dorset. Honestly...thats all know. Dud

Hi Jeanette. Thanks for all your efforts. The Harry on the 1901 that you have found and I couldnt, is the son of Harry and Tamar, and Tamar was a Sherred. I have been told that Harry (jnr) married a Sarah Surridge in 1901 at Woodford Green. There were four children,Harry, Emily, James and Andes. Andes was sent from London to live in Camberley with Harrys brother Mark to be away from Zepplins bombing London. However the marriage broke up and it was thought Harry emigrated to Canada. Is this the same Harry that emigrated with Rose? It doesnt seem likely as Harry must have been two timimg his wife Sarah for some considerable time. I was unable to find a marriage for Rose or a birth record for her daughter Lily. I think i must have two different Harrys. Dud.

Wonder if Mr Bell is Rose's step father? This looks like a likely marriage. Maybe not, here's Rose Bell with them in 1891. And looks like Parents were married before Rose's birth. Hi Fiona and Jeanette. I am becoming increasingly certain that I have two different Harrys here. The one that wed Rose emigrated with her and the kids in 1905. My Harry, who married Sarah in Woodford Green may well have parted from his wife and moved to Canada but at a somewhat later date than 1905. Dud.

Hi Dudley, I don't have access to the USA Ancestry but on Findmypast there is a Harry Jacobs 29 in 1906 leaving Liverpool, destination Portland US. Might be worth looking into. Fiona.
