Eldset is just a mis-transcription of Eldrett.

Hi Its been really difficult; alfreds son John E P Eldred is my great grandfather and his birth was registered as Eldrett but his death as Eldred. I thought then that the Eldrett would go back further but found another name change - Eldset!? I dont have any other information unfortunatly - I was hoping to find marriage details etc on Free BMD but no luck yet! Thank you all for your help - Wendy They would definatly be from the London area which back then obviously was Middlesex/London.

I am looking for an ALFRED ELDRED/ELDSET/ELDRETT, I have found him with his wife francis on the 1901 census but cannot find his birth registered. He was born in 1854; he has 4 children; Mary a, Walter, Elizabeth & John. Any info would be great - thanks
