Georgina, The mother's maiden name was Jones, not Jackson and married in 1876. Kath. x

The grandparents might just have omitted to say that the grandchild was born somewhere else. That is the only Nellie Bracegirdle that comes up on the 1881 census. Kath. x

yes her birth ,marriage and death certificate all say Nellie. Just thought, if this was my Ann and i have her marriage giving her age so she must have been born in 1848 she would have been 33 in this census not 30 Thanks anyway Kath, i'll see what i can find out with this one. Also on Ann's death certificate she put her husbands address as 21 north street Cheetham Manchester. Is there anyway of finding out if he lived there in the 1901 census.

Perhaps the enumerator just thought he heard Emily, when in fact they said Nellie. My grandmother is on the 1891 census as Elizabeth for some reason, but her name was Ethel. Kath. x

can anyone please help me to find out if my grandmother had any siblings. her name was NELLIE BRACEGIRDLE she was born 1877 at 23 regent street salford manchester.Her father was JOHN WILLIAM BRACEGIRDLE he was a painter journeyman.Her mother was ANN (nee JONES) Ann and John were married 1876 in little Bolton Lancashire.Ann died in1902 in prestwich workhouse. I can find nothing of Nellie between her birth and marriage in 1901 in Manchester.
