Joseph Brierley dob abt...this is where the fun begins...abt 1809-1811 and 1803...Also is it possible that dates of birth would be so different on each census as have found a possible death for him in 1883 where his age is given as 81 so that would make his dob as 1802??....Wanda.

Thanks Vera thats brill but does that mean my 1841 is wrong as says born in Salford but I notice there is an Elizabeth on there but no Charles and in 1841 theres a Marian but in 1861 theres a Mary ann. Could Marian and Mary Ann be the same?? Wanda.

That was the problem as they put Rochdale in yorkshire and as Vera said its in Lancashire so it really threw me.Gonna look at 1851 so might be back on that one in a mo.My family seem to like to swap their names dobs and partners like anything.Found one side of family where he ended up with the widow from next door!! Sheer luck by looking at original census and recognising her very unusual name! Thanks to all of you helping me.Wanda.

Formerley just Gillian-on your reply you said 1841 census same as 1851 but cant find on the 1851.Can you help please?Wanda.
