How do I look up the entry of a birth in Scotland in 1935. I am interested to see what is on record for my mum as she is adopted and we are searching for her birth family. We have already been to Register house in Edinburgh. Is that the only place or can I find out on line? Any help greatly appreciated Susan

Hi Susan, You can contact Scotlands People to order the birth certificate as you know when and where she was born, or you can contact the registry office where her birth would have been registered and order it there. Sorry should have added you won't be able to view the certificate online. Added later. What do you mean you have already been to the record office in Edinbugh. WHy did you not get the birth certificate there. Betty
