im trying to find John Conner and his wife Ann on the census' for 1871 onwards and im having no luck at all. I have him on the 61 census with his wife and step daughters. They were living in plymouth in the parish of st andrews. I have one of the stepdaughters in 1871 (gg grandma) but i dont have the other or the parents. This is really bugging me now, any ideas? louise

hes irish, his wife is born in devon. says tengraze on the translation of the census but as noone has heard of that we think it could be teigngrace (never heard of that either but others have!) his stepd married dec 1866 so i know they were still there then. lou

they married in dec 1866. cant recall from memory but it was either in plymouth st andrews or charles the martyr. see what i mean they just disappear! free bmd isnt bringing up any deaths for ann between the date of her daughters marriage and the next census.

probably! i suppose we have to remember what is translated is what the person reading it thought they saw and also what the person originally writing thought they heard so it may not bve that accurate in certain cases. also, anns first husband (assuming they actually married) was james discombe but her maiden name was cole according to elizabeths birth cert.

i think so. not ordered a death certificate-am skint! cant afford one! that fits in as his children were born in 1844 and 1847 and shes remarried in 55. all plymouth. (stonehouse is where elizabeth was born and is part of plymouth) lou
