Hello, Can someone help me please :o) I have traced my great grandad in the 1871 census as living in Paddington London, he was a butler and born in Wicklow, Ireland. He was born in 1830. Could anyone help me in finding out who his parents were please and if he had any brothers and sisters. I haven't got the first idea where to look for Irish Records. There was also a Phillip C stewart Born 1865 living in the house in Paddington, he was down as 'nephew' and he was born in Dublin Ireland. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you. Annie

You could try going to the rootsweb site and subscribing to the Wicklow mailing list. Someone may have more details on there. Mark

Hi Ann-Marie The census with the nephew Phillip C Stewart in the household was 1881 and not 1871. I thought I was going mad looking for him. Anyway I found what appeared to be Phillip in 1861 living with his mother Ester in Marylebone she was age 40 born Ireland and married but husband not with them. If Ester was Francis's sister then she would have been a Buckley before she married. Have found a possible marriage for her. STEWART, Edward Marriage Wife: Esther Anne BUCKLEY Marriage Date: 10 Jan 1853 Recorded in: St Mary, Dublin, Ireland Collection: Civil Registration Husband's Father: Edward STEWART Wife's Father: Thomas BUCKLEY Source: FHL Film 101346 Dates: 1853 - 1853 If you look at the 1871 for Francis (indexed as Frances) you will see that there is Emily Clark age 16 stepdaughter. Given that Jane (Francis's wife) was born at Brighton poss marriage for them is 1st qtr 1861 at Steyning. If you get the marrige cert this would give you his father's name. Kind regards Maureen
