Looking for information on person born in 1818

Hi I wonder if anyone can help I am looking for information on ROBERT GOODYER BORN 1818 IN BOX WILTSHIRE. I am particularly interested in a christening date and names of parents siblings etc. I am not sure how I will proceed with this any information anyone could give. Thanks Jenny

Jenny, if it isn't on the LDS site then you might have to go to the Wiltshire Record Office to look his baptism up in the parish records. But to be sure of finding the right one, you would be best to get his marriage certificate first (assuming he got married?) as that will tell you the name and occupation of his father, and then you can check that against the baptism records. Have you found him on 1841 and 1851 census returns? 1841 might contain a parent - or a sibling ... Sometimes even a later census might have a parent living with the family ... Jill

I had a quick look on censuses - frustrating that he has mother in law with him all those years and not one of his parents! In 1841 they are in Box - maybe other Goodyers are relatives? Can't be that many in the area and it might narrow things down a bit? Jill
