Does anyone know how to access Canadian birth records? or can anyone recommend a researcher in Canada? The area is Montreal. Had a look through google but nothing leapt out at me. I was hoping the records would be online but it isn't looking that way. Michele |

Obtaining Canadian records is very difficult. Recently, my mum tried to get a copy of her marriage certificate. Once she was finally able to get through to the proper agency, she was told it could take nine months! In what era are you looking? Older records are easier to find. Are the surnames 'less common', as that has helped me. |

Hi Michele: Are you only looking for birth records? If you are interested in any census, you could also try: http://automatedgenealogy*com/index.html (replace * with .) They have all of 1901 census and so far about 80% of 1911. If you are looking for additional information about someone, I can try to help, although I mostly have sites for Ontario. Would you like to post the name for which you are looking? |
