Jess, I think I might need new glasses! Usually taking them off does the trick, but this is a tricky one! The bride's father, John Boulton - his occupation looks a bit like 'Auctioneer' but some of the letters don't quite fit! I will have to keep looking back at it to see if I can get it eventually! It does look as if it starts with a W and ends with 'nner', with four or five letters in between. Um, and the witnesses' names - the first one looks like John Kirk. The second one looks like Peter Horton, but there is something before what I think is the first letter of it, which could be an initial or possibly '&', but I can't remember ever seeing an '&' before a witness's name on a marriage cert before. Anyway, I'm not certain it says Peter, either! Hope somebody else does better than me!! Kate.

GlitterBaby Report 12 Oct 2006 12:18

Jess, Think I will have to rule it out as there is a death in 1870 that could match the birth details posted. Back to the drawing board. Off to take the dogs out as the sun has finally come out Good luck Maureen
