New Tree Format.

Just viewed my tree on Genes. Not impressed with new format. Seems too big and cumbersome. Are there others who dont like it? Found the old one easier to use and to access other trees. Is it just me set in my ways and not liking change.

I agree with you. If someone gets in touch with you because you share a name how do you find the name without going back through each person. Sometimes you cant remember whos relative they are connected too. Bring back the old one or make some changes. Margaret

Agree it is rather cumbersome, but there is a search and view facility on the top line which allows you to view the tree in different ways and allows you to search for a name Kay

I agree, cumbersome and not very friendly. The green boxes cant be changed as far as I can see. This has all the hallmarks of a step backwards

If you view a shared tree it is in the old format then choose to view your tree and so is that, complete with marriages and everything ! If it ain't broke don't fix it! John

Everybody's birthdate had gone from fact to 'circa' on mine! Am going to have go through and check if was a 'c', and if not uncheck every box (if I can be bothered....) I've only got a hundred or so, pity anyone with any more! Also when you view in initial view, tree seems stuffed up in the top RH corner. Oh, and when I go into marriage and death details, only get death options. Not very impresseed, suggest anyone who feels the same also uses the 'feedback' option to let them know - after all, that what is there for. Agree, if it ain't broke, leave it alone! Myfanwy

i hate this new tree format but this is the second time they have changed the way you view your tree since i became a member in 2001. i like the old way please bring it back !!!! we should have a choice how we want to view our tree's.

Hi, thanks for that, just looked at the tips board, lots of comments on there, hope they take notice. However, have just gone back into my tree, 1/2 hr after leaving feedback, specifying the 'marriage' and 'circa' problems, and they have been resolved. On my tree, anyway. Spooky Eh?? Amazing responce, Or sheer co-incidence? Either way I am a slightly happier bunny now. Myfanwy
