There are two Discombes on Vol 2 Elizabeth Joan and Shirley Florence. No Emma sorry. Which may mean she married in a Registry Office and not a Church. Regards Jill

Do you know if they stayed in Plymouth, or might they have moved to London? In the 1871 census there is a George Hallahan with a wife called Emma, although they give their birthplaces as London, so it might not be them. Kath. x

No E J Discombe married Sydney Trevor Churchill in 1965. The Register Offices still hold the copies of Marriage Certificate, the only way of getting them is buying them. Regards Jill

Hi Lou, Apart from the obvious - buying the certificate, have you tried looking for her in 1871 census using the male surname's. This is how I track a lot of mine down. Debbie

Hi Looby I have rechecked Volumes 1 and 2 of the Plymouth Marriage Indexes and your Emma is not on either. I am afraid that means is was probably a Registry Office Wedding and you will have to buy the certificate. This is an expensive hobby isn't it? Regards Jill
