Hi June, I don't think that this is the family as Robert's father was a John Molyneux. He was obviously born out of wedlock Joseph

To June and Orangeblossom, Hi, I think that this may be the right family on 1851. On the IGI christening it gives Robert's mother's name as Elizabeth and I w as wondering if Betty was actually Robert's mother as his father was John Molyneux. It's a bit of a poser. Betty appears on the 1841 census Regards Joseph

Hi Orangeblossom, I don't know where I got the info from but it says on the 1861 Mary Ashurst Head born 1815 Aspull, Robert Ashurst lodger born 1835 Ince. I was just wondering where they were living at this time. Joseph

Found Roberts wife and her son in 1861... does that help?

They're on 1837online, but I can't see them on Ancestry... I'll keep looking. Got em... Hi June, Thanks for the info, I have the 1841 census report and as you say he is living with the family at that time. However, there is a problem with his parentage as on his birth certificate his Father is John Molyneux and as I mentioned, on the IGI latter day saints site, his mother is named as Elizabeth at his christening. It appears that I might never find the truth about Robert Thanks anyway Joseph
