All institutions are listed on all censuses. If you have access to Ancestry you can look at the enumeration districts to find out which are covered - usually institutions are in the last enumeration district for an area. Sometimes lunatic asylums only list people by initials, which might be why you can't find some folk. |

All housing establishments were included on each census. I found rellies on the 1871 in a. workhouse A normal search on the name will come up with any details.unles they are mistranscribed of course! |

1881 census' is readily available for each workhouse; but are the others, say 1841/51 etc? Ive a few ancestors missing and would like to check to see if theyre in the workhouse. |
