Carol Are you sure they came to Australia? I found a Samuel G. Rickwood that went to Indiana (on Ancestry.com.au ) but cant access the record as not paid member. That is the only reference to a Samuel Rickwood I have found so far. Colleen. |

Don't think that can be him Colleen - there is a Samuel G Rickwood on Ancestry World Trees, who married someone called Rebecca. Not many details given, but their descendants seem to be in Indiana. There is an email contact address for the tree owner, so Carol you could try to contact them to see if there's a connection. Richard |

Hi Carol, I tried to look up some of my CD-Rom. It seems nothing. I did with various spellings. I understand that Mary Ann Rickwood's maiden was Matthews, is it? I did try with Matthews in mother's name. It is still nothing. Do you know what state did they come to Australia? Regards, Steven. |

Hi Carol. Also checked my Index's for Australia, There is no mention of a Samuel, however the N.A.A ( National Archives of Australia ) shows a William RICKWOOD. The record shows: Australian Imperial force.Contents date range 1914 - 1920 RICKWOOD William : Service Number - 409 : Place of Birth - Norwood England : Place of Enlistment - Adelaide SA : Next of Kin - (Wife) RICKWOOD Sarah Rosanna. On viewing the origional Digital copy it shows William RICKWOOD aged 44 born... Norwich, Norfolk England.( Which you can view/read 44 pages of information on this chap. I realise this is not your Samuel, but also could be a relative/cousin/ son?.. that may lead to progress, or a clue, as this surname ( RICKWOOD ) was also born in Norwich, Norfolk. His service records can be viewed here. NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF AUSTRALIA. ( N.A.A ) Search now... as a guest. Type in Surname 'RICKWOOD' Click on SEARCH http://www.naa.gov.au/The_Collection/recordsearch.html First page at top. William RICKWOOD....'click' on ...View digital copy ( bottom right..next to bar code ) to read his service records and more. Cheers. Tony Oz |
