Sorry, I thought you said you wanted to search for it. If you want to pay £5 for the probate office at York to search for it then go onto their website at http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/cms/1183.htm where it will tell you all about the service. Then if you click on Forms and Guidance and put in form number PA1S you can download the form you need and print it off. But going this route means you pay your £5 even if there is no will (if they find one the £5 will include a copy of it). And they will only search a period of 4 years for your £5, if you need more than 4 years searched it will cost you another £5 for each 4 years. Kate.

Your local record office may well hold the probate calendar for the whole country, so you can search it at leisure. It is arranged by year alphabetically by name., so you can search Bloggs in each year!! Wendy

No Hayley if you google National Probate you should get some information on-line of which office you'll need to write to. If you know the date and place of death it's pretty easy to sort out. Sheila

Hayley, you will need to search the National Probate Calendar. Many record offices have copies on microfiche going from 1858 up to 1943, which will cover the period you are looking for. If you find an entry that you are interested in, then you can order a copy of the will from York for £5. Kate.
