Hi Joanne, The information Keith has given you will be all there is on the entry. To find out anything else you will have to buy the certificate or find him on the census. Kath. x

Hi Kathleen, How are you? I want to get the birth cert for the Wandsworth 1 but havent seen the Greenwich one before so i wanted to know more but didnt think till now it would have to be a census check wouldnt it? Maybe thats the 1 im after lol. Oh what a headache i have. Joanne

Hi Joanne, I realise now that you have already found him in the 1891 census. Although it gives his birthplace as Poplar, I have looked on the complete birth index for 1889 and 1890 and can't find a William Askew registered in Poplar. If you decide to order one of the certificates you have been given the references for, give his parent's names as checking points when you order, that way you will only get the certificate if the parent's names match what you give.
