Liz, have you tried searching through the National Probate Calendar for any William Denyer wills? It is possible that you could find one where Charles is listed as the executor. Or you might come across an entry for some other Denyer will where Charles is the executor while searching for William's. Kate.

Hi Charles Denyer born around 1858/60- he was 78 years old on his death in 1938. His wife was Annie Moore ( born Heage on one census-Tees on another). On her death certificate she was widow of Charles Edward (this name is not on any other certificate so am not sure if it is definite name) both death certificates were done by their son-in-law (thomas Caffrey). Charles Denyer was a Corporation labourer in Nottingham(Health department) and was pensioned but we have been unable to access any information re pension. Annie died in 1933 aged 73. (Her name is Annie, Anna or hannah). Did originally (years ago) see obituary in Nottingham newsper but only a couple of lines which wasn't useful. As I said they married in 1927. Eldest child Edgar went down south after marrying Florence Eustace. I haven't found any children of this marriage. remaining children stayed in Nottinghamshire. Descendants only from two sisters- no descendants from sons. Have no other information pre birt h of first son but census details, christening details, marriage details afterwards. Its Charles and Annie early information I am after. Not even sure when they arrived in Nottingham but first son was born there. Liz

Found a possible in 1881 born Stratford, London, mistranscribed as Charles Denger, but I have just found him on the 1891 so we can rule that one out! Kate.

When would Charles have been born? Reg

Hi Folks This is still a massive brickwall although I have now found marriage details. Looking for Charles Denyer first:- Charles Denyer on the 1891 census and 1901 census puts his birthplace down as St Lukes London. His first child was born in 1881 after census- his last child 1900 but he didn't marry his wife until 1927 when both he and his wife were 67 (Bachelor and Spinster) they both give their fathers names as William. Charles father was a commercial traveller. Both he and his wife died in the 1930's and left no wills. I haven't been able to trace him on earlier census nor his birth on PRO indexes. There is a Wiliam Denyer born St Lukes but it is not Charles as he is traceable through census. Any help appreciated.
